We play Secret Santa every year at my favourite forum where everyone makes a mixtape and snail mails it in time for christmas.
I like themed CDs and this year I chose water/ocean/rain. Basically I drew all of this in photoshop, had it printed and then assembled everything with strong double sided tape.
I'm particularly proud that the pop-up with the mermaid and the sailor actually worked.
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Have you heard Thrice's new album, the Alchemy Index? Disc 2 is all themed around the element of water, and it's gorgeous and awesome, a song off of it would fit here I'm sure.
Amazing design, great craftsmanship.

Thanks so much for the fav, and no, not a big fan of Thrice, sorry.
The digipack actually looks even better in real life that in the pics. The colours (especially the blue) are more vivid. Last year I made one about winter/cold/snow with a minimalist penguin design.
And it's so simple to make, just some cardboard to wrap your artwork around, a slim case CD tray and double sided tape or glue.
I sent it off yesterday, hope my "victim" will like it.
Yeah, I've got a stockpile of digipack cds so I can use the tray part in homemade cases like this. Double sided tape is definately the best, when I discovered that everything became a lot better. And, also, I don't know really anything else by Thrice, I gather most of their music is like poppy screamo stuff, but the water disc specifically is like, electronic post-rock type stuff, like Radiohead or Sigur Ros or Team Sleep.

Some people have been asking me about this stuff so I decided to gather all information in one single article on how to make your own portfolio, in a profesional and clean looking way. I hope it's useful, because these steps I myself take.
DeviantArt is full of extremely well produced artistic fashion and fine art photographs. Make up. Styling. Creation of scenery. Story. Light. Glamour. A combination of these expressions sometimes make up a great photograph. But the protagonists of these pictures are usually female.
So... now it's the time for male models to come into focus.

How to get comments, watches, your work scene, commented on, critiqued, and what you have to do. These are some of the things which I have learned since joining more than 4 1/2 years ago.
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
